BobAgent is a software I wrote to learn about how to write bots. This go application runs as a Linux daemon and provides a Restful JSON API that allows to spawn a bot and also kill it. The bot opens a web page provided in the spawn call and slowly scrolls the page to mimic a read of the page. The application is multi-threaded, uses a proxy provider to spoof different IP addresses and also allows defining the origin country.

This sneak peek shows how the API endpoint works

I wrote BobAgent as a fun project to learn about Bots. BobAgent can be used in ways it maybe shouldn't. Hence, the hefty price tag for the small 1.000 lines of code. Due to the hefty price tag, buying BobAgent includes an optional 1 hour consultation with me through Teams or phone.

BobAgent also requires proxy credentials for a specific proxy provider that you'll know after buying BobAgent. The access to the provider is open to anyone, but credentials and access are not included. Just to manage expectations. BobAgent is not intented for production use but rather as a learning project. It did run for months though.

DISCLAIMER: I never operated this in the cloud, but on my on-premise server having it browse my own websites.
